Text message terms

These terms apply to Trick or Drink party texts. Signing up means you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

What we send

These are marketing and event texts. Once you sign up you may get:

• Alerts when tickets are released or prices are about to change
• Venue announcements and venue changes
• Start times, check-in windows and wristband pickup details
• Updates during the night, including stop changes and line warnings
• Reminders on the day of a party you have tickets to

You do not have to sign up for texts to buy a ticket.

How you sign up

You enter your mobile number in a sign-up form on trickordrink.ca and tick the consent box, which starts unticked. It reads:

I agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages (ticket release alerts, crawl-night updates, venue changes and reminders) from Trick or Drink at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Msg & data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

We record every sign-up: the number, the date and time, the page it came from and the exact wording you saw. We never buy, rent or share phone lists, and we only text people who signed up themselves.

How often, and what it costs

It varies. Most texts arrive around a ticket release or in the days around a party you are going to. We charge nothing for texts, but your carrier's message and data rates may apply. Ask your carrier for details.

Stopping texts

Reply STOP to any text and you are off the list. You may get one last text confirming it. Under Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) this works for at least 60 days after any text we send, we act on it within 10 business days, and it is free.

Carriers and delivery

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier, your phone and the network, and is not guaranteed, so on the night check the live party map on this site for anything time-critical.

Your number

You confirm that the number is yours, or that the account holder has given you permission, and that you will tell us if you give the number up. Our parties are 19+ in Ontario, with government photo ID checked at the door.

Privacy

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your sign-up data is never sold and only goes to the companies that deliver the texts for us. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you by text or on the site if the change matters.
